Himachal government to revive Sardar Sobha Singh Awards

P. K Dhumal, the Chief Minister has announced revival of Sardar Sobha Singh Awards in the name of world renowned painter. He even announced that a big spot painting competition would also be held on the birthday of Sardar Shobha Singh, which falls in the month of November. He said that such awards had been initiated a long ago but however, were discontinued by the previous government.
Sardar Shobha Singh, the painter settled at Andreta near Palampur for whole of his life although he hailed from Punjab. He also inaugurated the Dainik Bhaskar Summer Shopping Festival at Palampur emphasizing on the need to protect the interests of craftsman, traders and giving a boost to the local industries.
