PALAMPUR: Rajan Vishal Mannan, S/o Prof. Vijay Vishal Mannan, resident of Baijnath has brought laurels to the State of Himachal Pradesh by cracking I.A.S. Examination, 2008 and bagging 60th position in the joint list with his rank likely to come down to an approximate 30th in the General Category after exclusion of the SC, ST and OBC candidates.
Rajan Vishal, aged 26+, has had a brilliant career with scores of prestigious prizes in extra-curricular activities at the School, College and University levels. He started his success story from Binwa Public School, Baijnath, District Kangra where he scored 198/200 in 5th Std. Examination conducted by HPSEB, Dharmshala. After doing his 6th and 7th from JNV, Paprola and 8th from DAV Public School, Palampur, Rajan moved out to do 9th from Sainik School, Kapurthala. Recognizing his academic brilliance coupled with multi-faceted talent, Shri Ravindar Talwar, the then Principal, DAV Sr. Sec. School, Sector 8-C, Chandigarh (Lahore), granted him full freeship from 10th to 12th @ Rs. 25,000/- per annum.
Combining talent with merit, Rajan has had an impressive trail of Mementos and Trophies following him all through his student career. To mention a few, he won First Prize in National Essay Competition on “No Tobacco Day”, 31st May 1998, organised by Generation Saviour Association, Mohali, affiliated to World Health Organisation. In a Regional Level Function on Eye Donation sponsored by the PGI, Chandigarh and organised by Dev Samaj College, Sector 36, Chandigarh, Rajan Vishal was adjudged Best Actor in his widely acclaimed self-composed and directed skit ‘Andhkaar Se Prakaash Ki Or’ by the then Youth and Welfare Minister, Punjab.
He kept up his steady First Class academic career upto M.A. Economics from P.U., Chandigarh and Master Business Economics (MBE) from University of Delhi, South Campus, New Delhi.
While talking to My Himachal News Rajan attributes his success to the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, guidance of his father, love of his mother, teaching of his teachers and best wishes of his friends.
Translating his dream into reality with his grit, determination and self- belief, Rajan Vishal has proved beyond doubt that a bird taking flight from comparatively an obscure place like Baijnath, may soar in the sky of success.
