KUMARHATTI: After failing to find any favour from the state government and Health Department, Mr. Ram Dayal Dhiman the father-in-law of Mohini whose uterus was allegedly removed in an unprofessional manner by a government gynecologist has decided to knock the High Court door. Talking to My Himachal news here today, the distraught Mr. Dhiman said that for him and his family the only way to seek justice has now remained to go to court.
Nobody has bothered to take care of our pleas, he rued. Ironically a senior minister of BJP government was scheduled to inaugurate a private hospital of the accused doctor near Nalagarh tomorrow, he pointed out. We have sent reminder letters to the CM and Director, Health Department in the hope to listen something from their ends but of no avail. It appeared that no body has time to give any attention to the poor people, lamented Mr. Dhiman. The life of my 25-year old daughter-in-law has spoiled simply because of the fault of a doctor. Mohini had to undergo three major operations purely because of the fault of a doctor.
Recalling that horror day of his life on April 1, the visibly shaking Mr. Dhiman said that we were not only seeking justice from our self but to refrain the accused doctor to not to do same thing with other people. We were misguided and made fool by the gynecologist at Civil Hospital, Nalagarh by giving wrong information about Mohini.
We were not given time to think after the accused doctor revealed that an immediate operation on Mohini was must to remove tumour inside the uterus. It was a wrong claim, how a woman with tumour inside the uterus could get pregnant. The doctor had done four ultra sounds of Mohini but never found anything wrong with her, he remarked.
It was eyewash on the part of doctor as there was another woman with Mohini name having tumour in uterus was admitted in hospital for operation, asserted Mr. Dhiman.
We were thankful to the doctors in gynecologist department at PGI, Chandigarh who saved the life of Mohini where she was taken later. We have written proof of PGI where it was mentioned that Nalagarh doctor had done wrong thing by removing Mohini uterus in a misguided life saving measure, said Mr. Dhiman.
The other people who had suffered from the accused doctor’s hands have approached me after the news about Mohini’s plight appeared in newspapers. All have expressed unity to take on the doctor, said Mr. Dhiman with tears strolling down from his eyes.
However it may be worth mentioning here that the doctor in question has made it clear earlier that uterus of woman had to remove to save her life. Had the Mohini not operated upon again, she might have died due to the heavy bleeding, claimed doctor.
