Presiding over the 76th Board Meeting of the reconstituted HP State Electronics Development Corporation, Chief Minister applauded the role of Himachal Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation which has been instrumental in spreading computer literacy and earning eight-fold increase in its turnover in just four years.He stated that H.P. was one of the fastest growing IT literate state in the country.
The corporation has given a tough competition to the private entrepreneurs by providing customers with quality equipments at cheaper prices and thus, earning a name for it, he added. It is worth noting that the Corporation’s turnover has increased from 4.13 crores in 2003-04 to 30 crores in the current financial year.
He further said that there was a need to diversify the undertakings of the Corporation and bring it in an open market to compete which would help it prosper. The Corporation has been providing customers with the medical equipment besides computer hardware.
Supplying gadgets at prices more than three times than the market rate, thus financing own inefficiency. Everyone knows that but good words are required for speeches.
