Govt. to include Ski in 3% sports quota

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal, while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the open skiing championship, a part of the Winter Carnival, Manali at Solang Nallah near Manali said that the State Government would explore possibility of including ski sports in the 3 percent sports quota reserved for sports persons in all government jobs. Many other benefits were also being provided to outstanding sports persons beside this reservation, he said.

Claiming the Solang Valley to be the the worlds best ski-slopes which had trained large number of youths in various snow sports he said that the sports would get further strengthened with the completion of ropeway connecting higher reaches of the slopes, which is likely to be completed by mid o this year.

He also said that Solang village would also be connected with motorable road and bridge would be constructed over Solang Nallah.

Dhumal paid tribute to the founder of Himalayan Mountaineering and Allied Sports Institute Manali, late Harman Singh who had contributed significantly towards the promotion of winter sports in Himachal Pradesh.

    THEY NEVER PLAYED ANYTHING IN COLLEGES THE CONDITION IS SO BAD
