State to review Khair and Kuth export policy

Shimla: Today, Forest Minister J.P. Nadda said while addressing an official meeting with senior officers of the department that the policy of exporting Khair wood will be reviewed for the benefit of local farmers and the State.
He also talked about the issue regarding the rights of ownership on the trees grown on uncultured land and said soon a decision will be taken after considering all related aspects in consultation with Revenue Department.
He further said that State would relax the condition on export of ‘Kuth’ and would take effective steps for proper management and exploitation of herbal plants. He added that the economy of the state can be strengthened by cultivating herbal plants in every panchayat in the forest. He encouraged the participation of the people for the objective.
