BJP Top Brass Headed For Himachal

Shimla: To participate in the party’s victory BJP top brass, which includes leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha , LK Advani, party president Rajnath Singh, senior leaders Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaietly are scheduled to be in Shimla tomorrow.

Gujarat chief minister Narinder Modi, who was the BJP party organizer when the Dhumal first became chief minister in 1998, was also expected to make it to celebrate the party victory in Himachal.

“The BJP legislature party is scheduled to meet on Saturday and formally elect its leader,” said Jai Ram Thakur, state BJP president. As the party had already projected former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal as its chief ministerial candidate prior to the election, the meet would merely formally complete the process. Dhumal has announced that the swearing in ceremony would be held on 30th December.

Party sources disclosed that as the hill destination was packed for the festive New Year tourism week finding accommodation for the party big wigs was becoming a problem. “An option of the leader coming in the morning and leaving by the evening was being explores,” said one party functionary
