KUMARHATTI: The industrial fraternity of region has cheered over BJP victory in state assembly poll. The fraternity was now looking forward for some positive steps from Mr. Prem Kumar Dhumal led new state government towards industry progress. While disclosing this here today a group of leading industrialists from Baddi said that it was a well known fact that BJP in state was pro industry party.
It was BJP led NDA government in center in January 2003 when an industrial package was announced for state thus opening a new vista of industrial development, they said.
After package no serious efforts were paid to improve the infrastructure in industrial area as a result hap-hazardous growth of industries was witnessed in many areas, they pointed out. The issues of direct link road and rail link to Baddi belt were raised on many occasions but of no avail. The most important road project linking Baddi directly with Chandigarh was still awaiting completion. The condition of Baddi –Pinjore road was enough to expose the sad state of infrastructure.â€
Some wrong decisions in past have halted the industry development, they said. The ban on land at Baddi was come at wrong time that put the growth on back gear, they maintained. Though the ban was relaxed later on but the prospective investors were still clueless on this development.
No concrete mechanism was followed to regularize the industry growth, they said. In the lack to develop other areas for industrial use the more load in Baddi brought miseries for both entrepreneurs and employees, they asserted. The formation of Baddi Barotiwala and Nalagarh Development Authority was come at very late stage, they remarked.
We were surely now expecting some tangible support from political circles that was lacked in past, they said.
Meanwhile it may be mentioned here that it was primarily Mr. Dhumal who had asked a joint industrial delegation from Baddi, Parwanoo, Kala Amb and Paonta Sahib to work out a common proposal for industry betterment during a meeting held at CII New Delhi Headquarter in August last where all six HP MPs participated.
