One Killed, 15 Injured In Himachal Road Accidents

Shimla: At least one person was killed and 15 injured in three separate road accidents in Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hrs, police said today.One person was killed and six injured, including two children,after the car, they were traveling in, fell into a gorge in Totu,
near here, this afternoon.

The police informed that one person, identified as Shauk Ram, 50, was killed and six others, identified as Kamla Devi, 50, Bimla Devi, 45, Mahinder, 25, Vishal, 4, Shakshi, 12, and Hem Prakash, 50. were injured in the accident.

Cause of the accident was, however, not immediately known. A case has been registered and investigations are on.

In another accident in the district, three people were injured, two of them seriously, after their pick-up jeep fell into a gorge at Jabli Nullah, near Sunni, at about 7.30 a.m.

Two of the seriously injured in the accident have been referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) here where doctors described their condition serious. The injured were yet to be identified.

In yet another accident in the state, six people were injured after a bus fell into a gorge at Khada Pathar in Shimla district yesterday. A case has been registered and investigations have been initiated, the police said.
