Don’t count us minnow in HP: Left Front

KUMARHATTI: Accusing Congress and BJP equally for the labourers’ class plight in state the CPM today called upon the people to not to give chance to these two parties who have nothing to do with public welfare . Addressing a joint rally of CPM and CPI held in support of Ms. Kamlesh Kumari the CPI candidate from Kasauli seat at Dharampur today, Mr. Kuldeep Singh the veteran state CPM leader has criticized Congress for planning to sell country interest to USA by signing an atomic agreement as per latter conditions.

He said, the Congress was ready to go as per USA wishes only to get atomic know-how. How could one rely on a party like Congress that has no care for its own countrys’ welfare, he questioned.

The BJP was a party supported by such forces that aimed to divide country in the name of religion, he pointed out. There was not much a difference between Congress and BJP as far as the basic ideology of these parties was concerned, he maintained.

He said, the people should come forward to support the secular forces. This was a must for their benefits and for country also, he asserted. He said that the left was fighting 15 seats in HP. The few left MLAs could have a serous influence on a state government as far as the policy making was concerned. This fact has proved by the 61 left MPs out of the total house of 542 MPs while supporting the central government from outside, he remarked.

Mr. N.D. Ranaut, Solan district secretary of CPM has said that Kasauli constituency has thousands of workers engaged in medium and small units. The left has vehemently criticized the successive state governments anti workers policies. The workers’ should now come on one platform to oust anti workers’ government from power, he said.

He urged the public to support Ms. Kamlesh Kumari who was herself employed in a unit.

Mr. Jagdish Bhardwaj, the state CPI leader has said that both Congress and BJP were believers of self interest rather to support the general interest. He highlighted the failure of Congress government to check contract labour in state unit. The employers have enjoyed government patronage while workers continued to suffer at their hand, he asserted.
