All plus two schools to get science blocks in Himachal

Every Senior Secondary School would be provided science block in a phased manner to develop scientific temperament amongst the youth and prepare them to acquire modern education.

This was stated by Shri Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister while addressing a public meeting at Bechar-ka-Bag, after dedicated Bechar-Ka-Bag-Nar-Noti and Bechar-Ka-Bag Mahipur roads completed at a cost of Rs. 60 lakh to the people of the area last evening.

Chief Minister said that plan had been formulated to ensure quality infrastructure in all the educational institution all over the State and all the senior secondary schools were being taken up in a phased manner. He announced Rs. 60 lakh for the construction of science block in GSSS Bechar-Ka-Bag and upgradation of GPS, Chaknal, Sheetla, Nar Noti to GMS, GMS Nehar Sabar, Panyali and Mollar to GHS and GHS Panar to GSSS.

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that Himachal Pradesh was no more a backward hilly State but a role model of development rest of the country. He said that funds had never been any constraint in carrying out development activities as record funds were available for some other different programmes for these districts.

Chief Minister said that it was under his Chief Ministership that the plus two system of education was introduced to keep pace with the modern education facilities.

Shri Virbhadra Singh paid his rich tributes to the former Chief Minister and architect of Himachal Pradesh late Dr. Y.S. Parmar who hailed from the area and lead the State from a backward and economically starved State to the leader of the country. He said that Dr. Parmar had dreamt of self -reliant, prosperous and most progressive State and laid the foundation of the same during his Chief Ministership.
