40 thousand daily wagers regularized during four years in Himachal

Himachal Pradesh is regularsing daily wage workers, making them eligible to draw pensionary benefits on attaining superannuation and about 40,000 daily wager had so far been regularized in different departments during last 4 years and industrial labour engaged through contractors would be checked, wages paid through cheques would be ensured. This was stated by Shri Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister, while addressing a public meeting at Nagheta in Shillai assembly segment of Sirmour district, after he dedicated Rs. 53 lakh Dhamog-Bunga Timbi lift water Supply Scheme to the people of the area benefiting 5,500 residents of 8 local villages.

Chief Minister said that 686 kms. of new road and 15 bridges had been constructed in Sirmaur district during last four years besides connecting 208 Gram Panchayats with motorable road in the district. He said that Rs.48 crore was spent under various activities and 401 habitations provided drinking water, besides treating 562 hectares of land for irrigation. He said that 418 daily wagers in IPH and 447 daily wage workers in PWD had so far been regularized and making them eligible to draw pensioning benefits on superannuation.

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that all the medical officers assigned administrative and allied duties due to promotion or otherwise would be required to attend the patients in concerned health institutions.

Chief Minister said that quality infrastructure would be created at CHC, Rajpur by constructing additional accommodation for hospital and the medical, para-medical staff. He said that atleast five medical officers would be deployed in the CHC to provide people of the area quality health services. He said that additional floor would be added to the existing building to cater to the growing demand of quality health services. He also inspected the institution today while he was on his way to Negheta and heard public grievances as well.

Chief Minister announced upgradation of GMS Sunog to High School and GPS Shidi- Khatwa to GMS to provide student higher and better educational facilities nearer to their home.
