122 booths declared hyper sensitive in Una district of Himachal

As many as 122 booths in Una district have been declared hyper sensitive and sensitive out of total 410, where polling will be held on December 19. This was stated in Una by Una Additional District Magistrate RS Rana. He said that the  first round of rehearsals for the polling staff will be conducted from 13 to 17 November, second round from 6 to 10 December and final round on 16 December. He said adequate arrangements will be made to ensure security at all the polling stations.

Presiding over an all-party meeting at Bachat bhawan here, the ADM appealed to all the political parties to observe the provisions of the model code of conduct. Office bearers representing the BJP, Congress, BSP and CPM attended the meeting.

Rana informed that pasting or displaying posters, banners and other election material on government premises and on private premises without permission is an offence. He informed that at the time of polling, booths by various political parties should not be set up less than 200 meters from the polling stations. Plying of vehicles by representatives of political parties to tow voters to and from the Polling station was an offence, punishable under section 133 of the Public Representation Act of 1951. He further said, use of public places like rest houses or community buildings for poll campaign will not be allowed.
