BBN Pollution committee meeting held

BADDI: A committee formed to address the various issues related to pollution in Baddi, Barotiwala and Nalagarh area has reportedly exhorted the industries to meet the pollution control standards. The committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr. A.K. Gulati Member Secretary, Pollution and Control Board held at Baddi today.
Mr. Gulati was the Member Convenor of the committee. The committee has felt that it was an urgent need to save the environment. It has now become urgent to take desired measures in reducing further losses to environment.
Besides Mr. Gulati, the DC, Solan and CEO, BBN Development Authority also took part in meeting. The committee has to submit a progress report on pollution control measures to state government.
Waking up to the environment issue causing concern in industrial belt of BBN area the state government has constituted the committee on August 16. The committee was supposed to visit the entire BBN area to assess the extent of pollution, analyze various potential sources of pollution and suggest remedial measures to check the pollution in the area.
