Shimla, July 29:Following a sting operation by a TV channel, questioning the conduct of cabinet transport and tourism minister GS Bali, the resignation tendered by the minister has been accepted by Governor VK Kokje.
Talking to the media chief minister Virbahdra Singh informed that Governor Kokje has accepted the resignation of cabinet minister GS Bali, which was forwarded to him at Indore, early today. He said that on learning about the incident and keeping the high traditions of the party in mind, the minister was asked to submit his resignation. The resignation was received on Saturday night itself as the story was being aired on television, he added.
Bali at a conference call demanded a judicial enquiry by a sitting High Court judge into his conduct as portrayed in the TV sting operation. He said that privacy at a family function had been infringed and the facts had been distorted to target him. “It was all a frame up and the truth will be revealed with time,” said Bali.
The sting operation, on a prime time broadcast showed a party with dancing girls, some skimpily clad being held, which the channel claimed was organised as part of a birthday bash for the tourism minister.
