‘Run for Fun†at Shimla

The ‘Run for Fun†organized by Shimla based Army Training Command here today as a precursor to the 4th Military World Games drew an impressive participation from all sections of the people.
V.S. Kokje, Governor flagged off the event at The Ridge Maidan Shimla today
The participants who numbered around 1100 were grouped into three categories, viz, men, women and children. While men covered a distance of 5.7 kms. the run for women and children was for 4 kms. The enthusiasm displayed by the participants, particularly school children was visibly admirable which also manifested the spirit of interest and unanimity of solidarity the civilians towards their brethren in the armed forces.
A large number of spectators were present at the Ridge Maidan to cheer the participants. The event concluded with distribution of prizes by Governor to the winners of each category. Certificates of merit have also been awarded to all participants.
