Himachal Information Director stresses need for timely flow of news

A meeting of Information Nodal Officers of all the departments was held here today. Shri Dinesh Malhotra, Director, Information and Public Relations presided over the meeting.
Shri Malhotra stressed upon timely flow up of information for press releases, features and success stories so that news reaches to the public well in time. He requested the departments to provide information about various schemes being implemented by the Government for the welfare of the common man and added that proper information to the public would ensure the welfare of those for which the schemes were being formulated and implemented. He said that the department was strengthening the data bank and added that cooperation of the departments was essential to achieve the objective.
He said that latest tools of Information Technology were being applied to ensure free flow of information. Government press releases, features, advertisements, tenders etc. were available online on departmental website www.himachalpr.gov.in and added that this would save time and efforts of departments seeking information regarding these.
Shri Malhotra stressed upon proper coordination between the departments in order to provide effective publicity and information of various welfare schemes and achievements of the Government.
Shri Dinesh Malhotra also gave a presentation on “Importance of Communication, Co-ordination and Participation in Public Relationâ€.
Shri Keshav Narain, Additional Director, Public Relations, Shri Jugbir Singha, Deputy Director and Senior Officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
