Melinda Gates, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates’ wife has visited Dalai Lama.
Not to mention Richard Gere is frequent traveler ( who after looking at apathetic situation of local roads, asked if he could repair and maintain on his own), and hordes of Hollywood personalities which flock to visit Dalai Lama.
My point is, Dharamshala is now world’s main tourist spot and this is due to Tibetans and thank to Dalai Lama.
How much Himachal govt, is working hard to make this town a model town or to upgrade the airport or to bring world class hotels?
Maria Shriver belongs to Kennedy family and Melinda Gates guides all philanthropically work of Microsoft chairman Bill Gates. Time is ripe that HP govt. open up its eyes and move fast to make Dharamshala a model town with international level facilities.

Dharamsala is a beautiful place and city with beautifull surroundings, but a neglected town declared by Govt. and Politicians.
No funds allocated for road to Trund a nearest place to snow mountains. Even Himachal Governer address in assembly in 1972 for building road up to Trund remained in books. A sign board was installed in 1972 in Kotwali Bazar for construction of this road for years together after Governer Address in Assembly. The the whereabout of sign board is not Known. Cantt road at Kotwali Bazar remained as it was 60 years before. No multistory building has come up in the town in the last more than 60 years. Buses do not stops at the places marked out for their stopage, such as Chungi, Kachehri, PoliceStation, or Hospital. people have to run to board the buses. Position still exist from our school days.
No remarkable achievement has been done for the city for which local residents could boast. The Politicians should go to Gangtok (Sikim) and see the roads connecting the town. Due to poor condition of roads the time taken from Dharmshala to chandigarh, Shimla, Delhi, Hoshiarpur, ludhiana etc. is much more if travelled in any hill station of India for the same distance. O God please help the city residents.
