Shimla, May 19: Jagson Airlines, the new private carrier, is eyeing Himachal Pradesh for operating helicopter services between famous tourist spots and has already acquired two MI 172 helicopters, the Airlines’ Chairman J.C. Gupta said today.
He told mediapersons at Kullu that the 26-seater MI 172 helicopters were the largest capacity helicopters and the machine was tested to be the safest for high mountains.
He said if Himachal Pradesh government agrees to the proposal put forward by the company, the helicopter services would start soon.
Gupta said that after finalising a 1.23 billion dollar deal for purchase of twenty A-320 aircraft, Jagson Airlines has also finalised the deal for 33-seater German Fornier aircraft and two planes would reach India by June-end.
He said the aircraft would operate from all the three airports in Himachal besides operating chartered flights. He said the air fare from Delhi to all Himachal airports would slashed by 30 per cent after the Do0328 aircraft were introduced in the fleet.
