The vast snow range of the Himalayas encloses Kullu Valley, with the Beas River foaming along the valley's length. It was once known as Kullanthpitha. The Kullu Valley come to be known as, ' The Valley of God ' is perhaps the most delightful region in the Western Himalayas.

This valley is shadowed in breathtaking grandeur and beauty. The 'Silver Valley' has nature's treasures that lie carelessly scattered as flowers on the high meadows. The center of a major fruit farming industry, its hillsides are covered with shrubs and trees.

Kullu, the district, serves as the nerve center of the valley and is the starting place for a number of treks. Literally the valley of hundred temples and a thousand deities, it offers peace, a mysterious, spiritual peace which pervades every nook, every corner, and a peace breathed into the mountains, trees, stars and streams by countless sages and `rishis' who came here to meditate. World famous Kullu Dussehra is also held here at famous Dhalpur grounds.
